The replacement Perivale Primary campus opened in 2022 with capacity for approximately 1,240 learners.
Lotus River Sport and Recreation Centre is an important municipal community hub with indoor and outdoor courts, an indoor gym, an astroturf, a children’s play area and facilities for meetings, events and youth programmes. Lotus River is not a conventional sightseeing destination, but it is close to the Rondevlei and Zeekoevlei sections of False Bay Nature Reserve, where visitors can enjoy birdwatching, environmental education and designated walking areas. Residents’ privacy should be respected, and visitors should use recognised public facilities rather than treating residential streets as tourist attractions.

Attractions within comfortable travelling distance include Rondevlei, Zeekoevlei, Muizenberg Beach, the False Bay coastline, Constantia and the Royal Cape Golf Club. Summers are warm, dry and frequently windy, while winters are cooler and wetter; weekday traffic on Strandfontein and Ottery roads can become congested during peak periods.
