Eksteenskuil is a rural agricultural community in the Kai !Garib Local Municipality, within the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality of the Northern Cape. It lies in the Lower Orange River valley near Keimoes, approximately 40 to 45 km south-west of Upington. Here the Orange River separates into numerous channels, creating a network of small inhabited and cultivated islands connected by narrow roads and bridges.
